Palakkad, Kerala – A video has gone viral on social media showing a Muslim woman performing Namaz in the middle of the road at IMA Junction, causing significant traffic disruption. The incident reportedly took place on 28 January.

Local residents requested the woman to move to the side of the road to offer her prayers; however, she refused. In the footage, the woman, dressed in a white burqa, can be seen spreading a cloth in the centre of the road to pray. She is also seen engaging in arguments with several motorists.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene, took the woman into custody, and brought her to the police station. During the police interrogation, the woman stated that she had adopted this method to draw attention to a long-standing family land dispute. She explained that she has two children, yet her husband’s family is refusing to grant her legal rights or her rightful share of the property. After her repeated requests failed to yield any results, she decided to protest by performing namaz on the public road.
