The Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (ANiS) has consistently acted to undermine Hindu sentiments under the guise of eradicating superstition. Why does ANiS not dare to stage such ‘miracle’ demonstrations wearing the attire or symbols of other religions, such as that of priests or maulvis? – Editor

Ahilyanagar (Maharashtra): At a programme organised at the Eknath Secondary School in Shevgaon in Erandgaon Tehsil of Ahilyanagar, a representative of the Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (ANiS) demonstrated so-called ‘miracles’ to students while dressed in saffron attire.
Strongly objecting to this act, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti submitted a memorandum to Mr. Anand Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad, and the Secondary Education Officer, Mrs. Sandhya Gaikwad. Shri. Rameshwar Bhukan, District Coordinator of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, stated that saffron is a sacred symbol of faith and evokes deep reverence in the hearts of all Hindus, and further asked whether the school had provided written permission for such a programme.
Demands by HJS in the memorandum:
- An investigation should be conducted into the presence and role of the individual wearing saffron attire, which represents the robes of Hindu sages and saints.
- Instructions should be issued to the concerned teachers and coordinators to ensure that such incidents do not recur anywhere in future.
- A written account of the incident and the actions taken should be made available to the parents.
Chief Executive Officer Mr. Anand Bhandari assured that appropriate action will be taken after obtaining information regarding the matter. Present at the occasion were Shri. Rameshwar Bhukan of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, District Hindu Organiser Shri. Arun (Bapu) Thange, Chaitanya Shekde, Shri. Avinash Sabare, among others.
