Mumbai : During the discussion session held at Ruia college hall in Mumbai on behalf of 'Indian Historical Compilation Committee (IHCC)', experts expressed their views that demolition of 'Ram-setu' which is 30 kms. in length, joining India from the village 'Dhanushyakodi' at the South-end, with Sri Lanka, will result in not only collapse of Hindus religious faith but it will also be wrecking of a bridge which is a central-point that joins ancient Indian culture with the aboriginal Indian culture. The demolition of the setu will also affect the environment of the ocean resulting in financial loss to the country. In this session, Dr. S. Kalyanraman, a senior historian was to present his research work; but he could not attend the meeting and his papers were presented by Shri. Haribhau Vaze, the President of IHCC. Shri. A.P. Jamkhedkar, ex- Director of Archeology Department, Sree Sree Ma Purnapradnyaji, disciple of Sree Sree Sree Ma Anant Sree Vibhushit Swami Sree Akhandananda Saraswati Maharaj and Shri. Ved Prakash Goyal, former Central Minister were also present.

Giving details regarding the Ram-setu, Shri. Haribhau Vaze said that on the sea-coast of the State of Kerala, 'Thorium' required in production of atomic energy is found in abundance compared to anywhere in the world. If the setu is demolished, this 'Thorium' will flow away with sea water resulting in great loss to Hindustan. It is the ploy of America to convert the sea-passage into an international canal and take away Indian dominance in the region. The setu helps in obstructing the huge destructive tsunami waves; but if the setu is razed down, huge tsunami waves can directly hit Indian coast. All the Indian coastal States on 3 sides will be submerged in water. Therefore, preservation of Ram-setu is imperative from the viewpoint of Indian economy and ecology.

Sree Sree Sree Ma Purna Pradnyaji said that due to the Government policy of secularism, Hindu culture is becoming extinct. Once the setu is demolished, nobody can construct it again. Scientists have also advised the Govt. against demolition of the setu; but the Govt. is ignoring their advice. The Govt. is not bothered about feelings of Hindus. It is an assault on our culture and Dharma. All of us must unite to fight against the Govt. ploy.

Dr. A. P. Jamkhedkar, ex-Director of Department of Archeology said that it has been found that some portion of the setu has been man-made and therefore, it is significant from the point of view of ancient archaeological value. There are very few such ancient constructions in existence and Ram-setu is one of them. Its primeval value has been proved not only by the Indian scientists but also scientists from other countries. This setu is like a mountain under the waterbed. The Govt. should consult Department of Archaeology before taking any decision in the matter. He appealed to the Govt. to take a decision after undertaking all round thorough study in the matter.

(In any other country in the world, such ancient 'Setu' would have been preserved and the Government would have taken pride to show it to the world as the first ever 'Setu' built in the world; but the egocentric Congress Govt. is trying to destroy the 'Setu' -Editor)
