Many believe the coral reef between Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu to be the mythological bridge vanarsena built so that Lord Ram could rescue Sita; But officials involved in the Sethusamudram Project say it is a natural formation that they have to dredge to connect the eastern and western ports. The debate continues

S Badrinarayanan, former director of Geological Survey of India and a member of the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) says the Adam’s Bridge was not a natural formation.
