Bangalore: ISKCON plans to set up a Krishna Theme Park on the outskirts of Bangalore, designed by the people who built Disneyland. The Karnataka government has donated a 28-acre plot near Kanakpura Road for this ISKCON project. ISKCON also contemplates an animated movie and television series on Krishna that will feature names like Juhi Chawla and Om Puri lending their voice. The project is expected to start in three months and scheduled to ready by September 2009 at the cost of Rs 500 crore.

ISKCON’s Bangalore vice-president Chanchalapathi Dasa said, "The Gita tells us to move forward. We should adapt to our times and talk to children in their language." He feels children love animated characters such as Mickey Mouse, and that’s what prompted him to use animation to popularise Krishna among children. A team of 40 people, including experts from National Institute of Design, will plan the project. A team from India will be collaborating with teams from USA and the UK.
