Congratulations to Yogi Government for accepting the demand for Liquor ban in Ayodhya!

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti urges for a similar ban on Liquor and Meat at all Pilgrimage places, including Kashi-Mathura

In anticipation of the inauguration of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, Hindu Janajagruti Samit extended its gratitude towards Hon. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath ji for promptly addressing the demand for a 100% ban on liquor and meat in Ayodhya. Pro-Hindu organizations united and conducted protests at various locations to emphasize this crucial request. In response to these appeals, Hon. Yogi Adityanath decided to impose a liquor ban in the 84 Kosi Parikrama Yatra area of Ayodhya. The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti warmly welcomes and appreciates this commendable decision, expressing gratitude towards Uttar Pradesh Government for its swift action.

In alignment with the efforts to preserve the sanctity of all religious areas, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti calls upon Hon. Yogi Adityanath to implement a 100% ban on liquor and meat in the vicinity of all pilgrimage places, including Kashi and Mathura.

The country witnesses lakhs of devotees to numerous temples and pilgrimage sites. Unfortunately, under the guise of ‘tourism development,’ beer bars, dance bars, liquor shops, Chinese food outlets, and mutton shops have proliferated in these sacred locations. Devotees visit these places for darshan, pilgrimage, and Spiritual Practice, not for the consumption of alcohol or meat. Therefore, it is imperative to provide facilities for devotees while ensuring the sanctity of these holy places.

The sanctity of pilgrimage sites has been a growing concern, as the influx of commercial establishments has raised doubts about the true nature of these sacred places. In Haridwar and Rishikesh, the local administration had previously imposed a 100% ban on liquor and meat, a measure upheld by the Supreme Court. Given the religious significance of Kumbh Melas organized in Haridwar and Rishikesh, It is essential to prioritise the sentiments of devotees participating in Hindu religious worship

Against this backdrop, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti emphatically demands the imposition of a 100% ban on liquor and meat at all pilgrimage sites, echoing the sentiments expressed by the Supreme Court.
