Huge protest rally against anti-Hindu Bills

Pandharpur: Yesterday a huge protest rally in which about 400 Hindus from the Warkari-Fadkari dindi Society and other Hindu organisations joined hands to oppose the Blind faith eradication bill and the government take over of Hindu temples bill, was held at Pandharpur. The Tehsildar of Pandharpur Shri. Baburav Pawar was submitted a memorandum at the end of the rally. Shri. Pawar was kind enough to come out of his office to accept the memorandum. He also assured the participants of the rally that he would ensure that the strong religious sentiment of people would reach the government.

The rally began from the western entrance to the temple of Sree Vitthal. The Warkaris were singing the glory of God with their cymbals. On the loudspeaker were pronounced anti-government slogans. Chiefs of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and the Hindu Mahasabha were making citizens aware of the anti-Hindu laws of the government. Among the Hindu protagonists in the rally were H.B.P. Madhav Maharaj Shivanikar President of the entire Varkari-Fadkari Society, H.B.P. Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Jalgaonkar, Vice-President of the sect, Shri. Bongrage of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, Shri. Ravindra Sale of the Bajrang Dal, Sau. Bhagyashree Lehane of the Durgavahini, Shri. Abhay Kulkarni Ichgaonkar of the Hindu Mahasabha, Shri. Vivek Benare journalist, Shri. Mahesh Khiste former city councilor, Shri. Sudhir Salunkhe Sub-city Shiva sena chief, Shri. Baba Bavde and Shri. Kashinath Thite of the Bharatiya Janata Party, H.B.P. Kabir Maharaj of the Warkari sect, Shri. Ganesh Ankushrav, District President of the Valmiki Sangh, Shri. Amol Rane President of the city, Shri. Babarav Mahajan President of the business community, Shri. Kiran Ghodge city councilor, Shri. Santosh Patne and Shri. Rajendra Mali of the HJS, Dr. Shripad Pethkar of the Sanatan Sanstha, Shri. Svanand Ghevare, Miss Monali Shiraskar and Sau. Suvarna Pethkar in their individual capacity.
