Mumbai : Taking note of the point raised by Shiv Sena MLA Dr Manisha Kayande in the State Legislative Council, Maharashtra Government has taken an important decision of not naming liquor bars in the State after names of Deities, great national leaders, and forts for avoiding their insult. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) had submitted a memorandum to Dr. Manisha Kayande in this connection and she raised the issue in the legislative assembly, realising its seriousness.

Mr Satish Sonar and Mr Prasad Mankar of HJS met and thanked her on behalf of HJS. Dr Kayande has also been given a congratulatory letter in this context. She said that she can be approached with any such issues related to various matters.

The State Government has given a time limit till the 30th of June 2022 for changing the names of liquor bars having names of Deities, great national leaders and forts. A circular has been issued by the Government in this regard. Owing to Dr. Manisha Kayande raising the issue, insult of Deities and great national leaders will be prevented in future.
