Masjid at Prayagraj Railway station’s Plat form

Prayagaraj (UP) : Railway station is a public place. Therefore, no religious structure is allowed to be erected there, but Prayagaraj railway station has proved an exception to this rule. A large number of Muslims dwell in the area surrounding the railway station. Therefore, Muslims have erected a Masjid right on the platform no. 1. This is an only example in the entire country of a Masjid being erected on a railway platform. Since a Masjid has been erected here, Muslims regularly use this place for visits etc. Nobody dares to ask them for platform ticket. Since the Masjid is erected on the facing portion of the station, average citizens always remain under the tense situation.

When Hindu and other non-Muslim passengers approach this place, Muslims acquire threatening postures. Therefore, the passengers have to remain under constant pressure even in a public place. This Masjid has also become a sanctuary for the thieves, who indulge in thefts in railways. Many thieves take refuge in the Masjid after committing thefts. Therefore, it becomes difficult for anyone to enter the Masjid and apprehend the culprits. The name of the Prayagaraj station is also written in Urdu along with Hindi. This results in the perception that the predominance of Muslims exists everywhere in Prayagaraj.
