Nudity expert Hussain explains away denigration as modern art!

Mumbai: Anti-Hindu painter M.F. Hussain said that nudity is a symbol of purity. His drawings fall into the category of ‘modern art’ and people are not able to appreciate his art. He was talking to the interviewer on NDTV in their ‘Walk the Talk’ program. Hussain is presently on the tour of Arab countries. Shri. Shekhar Gupta, the chief editor of ‘Indian Express’ interviewed Hussain in Dubai. Demonstrations are held in India at various places against Hussain for drawing indecent pictures of Hindu deities.

When Hussain was questioned about this, he said that there is democracy in India so everybody has a right to express his opinion. He said further that the pictures were drawn 20 years back and were not realistic. When he was asked if there were incidents of someone trying to cause damage to his paintings, he answered in negative. Shri Gupta asked him that people ask as Hussain is drawing nude pictures of Hindu deities, why does he not draw nude picture of Prophet Mohammad, he said that he would answer this question in court.
