#ThisDiwali_BoycottTanishq trends as Hindus decide to boycott Tanishq in this Diwali

Recently the jewellery brand ‘Tanishq’ released an advertisement which showcased a Hindu woman married into a Muslim family, preparing for her baby shower. This ad was nothing but an attempt to promote pseudo-secularism and Love Jihad. After the united protest of Hindus over social media, Tanishq removed the controversial ad. But while ‘apologising’ for the said ad, Tanishq said that ‘We are removing this video to safeguard our stores and employees’. With such statement, Tanishq squarely blamed Hindu society as if Hindus are violent.

Hindus came out to Twitter to teach a lesson to Tanishq and appealed others to boycott Tanishq on this Diwali. Hindus started tweeting with hashtag #ThisDiwali_BoycottTanishq and in the morning it became one of the top 10 national trends on Twitter in India. It was on 4th spot for brief period of time and more than 25,000 tweets were tweeted with the said hashtag.

Here are some of the tweets from the trend :
