Facebook’s partisan policy – Ban on devout Hindu BJP MLA T Raja Singh’s Facebook page

Why is there no ban on the Facebook pages of those spreading religious hatred such as jihadi Dr. Zakir Naik and Akbaruddin Owaisi ?

By banning the Facebook page of BJP MLA from Hyderabad and staunch Hindutvavadi T Raja Singh, Facebook has brought restrictions on India’s freedom of speech. If hatred was being spread from his page, then why is there no ban on the Facebook page of the jihadi Dr. Zakir Naik who is wanted in India and encourages Muslim youth to become terrorists, and that of MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi who openly threatened to kill 100 crore Hindus ? The Facebook pages of many jihadi terrorist organisations are still promoting jihad. Therefore, Facebook is applying different standards to Muslims in India and Hindus on the other hand, thus practising religious discrimination, expressed the National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Mr. Ramesh Shinde. ‘Facebook page’ of T Raja Singh should be instantly restarted, otherwise, an appeal will have to be made to the Hindu community for a boycott on Facebook, warned Shinde on this occasion.

It was revealed that during the recent riots in Delhi as well as in Bengaluru, religious fanatics were urged to come together by appealing them on their Facebook pages. Facebook does not seem to have taken any action on the ‘Facebook page’ that has sparked riots in Indian cities. Also, many obscene and offensive statements regarding Hindu Deities and national heroes have been posted on Facebook till date. In this regard, devout Hindu organisations have often requested Facebook to close such posts or pages; but Facebook has never taken action on this; this shows the bias of Facebook.

The official page of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti was similarly shut down in 2012 by Facebook for no reasons. This also shows the anti-Hindu Dharma attitude of ‘Facebook’. MLA T. Raja Singh is a people’s representative; closing his page will limit his ability to communicate with the people directly and solve their problems. Therefore, we demand that the Central Government of India should stop this anti-Hindu arrogance of ‘Facebook’. Closing MLA T Raja Singh’s Facebook page is in a way suppressing the voice of Hindu masses. If Facebook, which earns crores of rupees in India, is trying to suppress the voice of the majority of Hindus, then Hindus will also boycott Facebook. This should be realised by Facebook.
