Mumbai: An article on ‘Why there is opposition for anti-communal riots Act?’, which misleads people on the issue, has been published in a Marathi newspaper ‘Lokmat’ by the President of ‘Lokmat Media Group’ and Congress MP Vijay Darda. (What else is expected from Congress that feels it would go to heaven by kowtowing to Muslims? Hindus must show such Congress representatives their proper place in the election ! – Editor SP)

While targeting Mr. Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the fast undertaken by him, pro-Hindu statements made by Mr. Balasaheb Thackeray have also been criticized in this article. He has posed a question that ‘Why RSS and BJP are opposing this Act when it does not favour any religion?’ (Had he studied this Act, he would have understood! Since Mr. Darda does not seem to have studied this Act or he is trying to show that he is ignorant, he has raised such query ! – Editor SP) While stressing that people affected by riots have been extended benefits, he has concealed the black side of the Act from people. He has given information on few clauses which take action on government officials who shirk from their duty during riots and has stated that such action is necessary; but he has not talked about any of the clauses in the Act that divide ‘majority and minority’. (Is this not called ‘yellow’ journalism ? – Editor SP) Reference has been made to Gujarat riots, Kandhamal riots, killing of Steins family etc; but no mention has been made about the riots started by minority during the recently celebrated festivals like Ganeshotsava or Navaratri and attacks by Muslims on the processions taken out by Hindus. (Is this Mr. Darda’s love for Muslims or is it because Muslims provide him his bread and butter ? – Editor SP)

Concluding the article, Mr. Darda has shown readiness to accept any improvisations to the said Act if suggested by BJP and has accused BJP of taking political advantage of the issue.
