Seminar at Mapusa, Goa by HJS to create pride for mothertongue

Mapusa (Goa): The schools of Diocesan Society are slaughter houses. They have restrictions on following Hindu culture and traditions. Do not send your children to these slaughter Houses. Bring these institutions to their senses. Only then the pressure of English language in MoI issue on Goa  government  will get reduce, said Educationist Prof. Anil Samant. He was addressing a seminar organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) to create pride for mothertongue. Mr.  Raju Naik, Chief of Editorial Department of Daily ‘Tarun Bharat’; Mr.   Prabhakar Tivrekar, a senior freedom fighter; Mr.   Jayesh Thali, state convenor of Gomantak Mandir and Dhaarmik Sanstha Mahasangh (GMDSM) and Mr. Rajesh Korgaokar of HJS were on the dais. All of them expressed their views regarding medium of Instruction at the primary level in the stqate of Goa. More than 200 people attended this seminar.

The seminar began with lighting the auspicious lamp by the senior freedom fighter, Mr. Prabhakar Tivrekar. Mr. Suraj Chodankar, Headmaster of Vasant Vidyalay at Sivoli, Mr. Nandkumar Raikar from Haldona and Mr. Shekhar Agarwadekar welcomed the guests. Mr. Rajiesh Korgaokar said, “When English is being forced upon us we should react. We should destroy this conspiracy regarding forcing the English language as MoI on us in primary level. We have people worshipping English language till now in Bharat. We should put an end to the Western culture. We should use our mother tongue in day to day life.”

Mr. Tivrekar, the freedom fighter said, “Our ancestors preserved Marathi and Konkani  languages during the very adverse period during the Portuguese regime. Mother, Motherland and Mothertongue are very importenrt in our life. We should love them all equally. Marathi and Konkani languages are attacked by English. Hence the Hindus should unite. There should not be any rift between Marathi and Konkani. All Hindus should gather and put a brake on the arrogant Government. HJS work in this regard is commendable.”

Mr.  Raju Naik Said, “Our generation after generations have sacrificed for our mother tongue and motherland. Present situation is not created by outside enemies but we have forced this situation on ourselves. Although we are patriotic, yet we disregard it. That is why the problems are created. At present Hindus do not cherish pride for Dharma and they do not practice Dharma (Code of conduct). Very few know the ‘Artis’ sung during the Ganesh Festival’. The situation will become worse due to education in English at primary level. Presentation of our ‘Plays’ will be no more. For the first time in History the Marathi and Konkni have come together and they are bound to succeed.”

Mr. Jayesh Thali said that English is preferred today instead of Marathi and Konkani. Macauley’s conspiracy is gaining success. We have become slaves of the British, intellectually. We will have to throw away this intellectual slavery. This agitation is to protect the Baratiya language. We are also supported by Sree Ganesh and Sree Saraswati with their Divine Energy as we are their devotees. English is a language of the robbers. Robbers only feel robbers’ language as their own. It is very necessary to introspect why one feels inferiority complex as regards the mothertongue. We should try to understand the speciality, magnificence and easiness of the mothertongue. To preserve the prestige of the Nation it is essential to impart education in the mothertongue.

Mrs. Shubhangi Gaunekar compered. The seminar ended after the recitation of ‘Pasaydan’ by Ms. Rutuja Yelegaokar and Ms. Sayli Gadgil. Mr. Ramesh Naik, acting Chief of State Shivsena; Capt. (rtd.) Dattaram Sawant of Divya Jagruti Pratisthan;  Mr. Narayan Rathavad,  journalist and a social worker, Mr. Pratap Vernekar and Mr. Ajit Tamhankar are the prominent proud Hindus who were present for the seminar.
