Illegal Video shooting of the treasure in Sri Vitthal Mandir

Pandharpur (Maharashtra): Video shooting of the ornaments and treasure in the famous Sri Vitthal-Rukhmini Mandir is being telecast on a news channel for some days. Millions of rupees treasure is being shown in detail. Thieves, robbers, terrorists could take its undue advantage. ‘No permission of the officer in charge was taken for telecasting the treasure where secrecy has to be maintained.

Journalist Mr. Sanjay Vaikar has demanded action from Home Minister, Mr. R.R. Patil, against the persons involved in breaking the secrecy by telecasting the video shooting on the channel. (Congratulations to Mr. Sanjay Vaikar! Journalists like Mr. Sanjay Vaikar who awaken the Government regarding the safety of the Mandir, are fulfilling their duty towards the fourth pillar of Democracy in true sense ! – Editor SP) Dist. Collector Dr. Jagdish Patil, informed the journalists that the channel has been asked to stop the telecast immediately.
