Moi (Dist. Pune) : On 7th September, devotees had immersed idols in river water in traditional manner; however, many idols floated back to the bank as river water receded. Some of the idols were in damaged condition. Shri. Ashok Kulkarni and Shri. Jaihind Sutar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), who had come there to conduct Dharmashikshan class, observed the position and with the help of local youth, all idols which had floated back to river bank were again immersed in river going to deep water. The local youth said that they generally re-immersed idols found in this manner after Anant Chaturdashi and felt that local government administration should release enough water in river, not only on the days of immersion but also two days earlier and two days after immersion days so as to prevent denigration of idols happening in this manner.
