Action should be taken against persons forcibly taking away idols and ‘nirmalya’ from devotees at the immersion places : Representation submitted to police by all patriotic and pro-Hindu organizations against anti-Dharma appeal !

Mumbai : During the period of Ganesh festival, on idol-immersion days i.e. on 1-1/2 days or immersion with ‘Gauri’ and on the last day i.e. Anant Chaturdashi, some volunteers forcibly take away idols and offered stale flowers offered to Shri Ganesh from devotees. Such incidents should be stopped and action should be taken against concerned volunteers, was the demand made by all patriotic and pro-Hindu organizations through representation submitted to senior Police Inspector Milind Gadankush of Mahim police station on 31st August. Shri. Prabhakar Bhosale, Founder-President of Shri Shivakarya Pratishthan, Vikhroli, Shri. Devendra Warekar and Shri. Anil Naik of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) were present on the occasion.

It has been stated in this representation that devotees have faith in immersing idols of Shri Ganesh in flowing water. If someone is immersing idol in sea or flowing water voluntarily, nobody need to have any objection. Nobody also has a right to forcibly take away idols from devotees without permission.

Taking away idols forcibly from devotees can cause damage to idols, leading to arguments which can create tension; so also law and order problem. Therefore, since immersion of Shri Ganesh idols is a religious matter and related to faith of devotees, you are requested to look into this mater seriously and take action to stop such incidents.
