Kalyan : Large-scale water pollution created throughout the year due to sewage water and solid waste is overlooked and only Hindus’ Ganesh festival is targeted to promote unscientific immersion of Ganesh-idols in artificial water tanks or through donation of idols. Such misleading of people and denigration of Ganesh-idols should be immediately stopped was the demand made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) in the representation submitted to Shri. Dipesh Mhatre, Chairman of Standing Committee of Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation. He promised to pass a resolution for making arrangements for immersion of Ganesh-idols in natural water reservoir by erecting stone-wall and putting net in the water-reservoir.
