Ganesh festival committees should celebrate festival as per Dharmashastra : Kiran Duse

Barwad (Dist. Belgaum) : Principle of Shri Ganesh is more active during the period of Ganesh festival compared to other days of an year. Ganesh festival committees should therefore, take initiative in celebrating Ganesh festival as per science for getting maximum benefit and for celebrating the festival in a manner as expected by Lokmanya Tilak. The above appeal was made by Shri. Kiran Duse, District Coordinator of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) for Kolhapur, during meeting of Ganesh festival committees held at New Vitthal Mandir of Barwad on 26th August. The meeting was attended by 32 representatives of various festival committees.

Shri. Santosh Sangar of HJS did compeering of the program. VCD on ideal manner of celebrating Ganesh festival and why donation of idols, instead of immersion, is unscientific was shown after the meeting. Three Ganesh festival committees informed about organizing lectures for their committees. Handbill giving information about Shri Ganesh was distributed to participants.

Highlights – While concluding the meeting, Shri. Balasaheb Patil of ‘Hindavi Swarajya Ganesh Mandal’ promised to spread information given in the meeting to maximum number of Ganesh festival committees.
