Ratnagiri DC issues order to create awareness to prevent abuse of national flag

Patriotic organizations participate in meeting held at Ratnagiri for maintaining honour of national flags

Ratnagiri : A meeting was held on 8th August at District Collector’s office in the background of Independence Day on 15th August which was attended by District Collector Sunil Chavan and various Government officers, along with different patriotic organizations, on the issue of maintaining honour of national flags. District Collector Chavan issued order to officers from concerned departments for meticulously following Government’s order.

Representation was submitted to District Collector by patriotic organizations like Shri Shivapratishthan Hindustan, Hindu Rashtra Sena, Sanatan Sanstha, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) etc for maintaining honour of national flags. District Collector Sunil Chavan first referred to this representation and said, “Suggestions given by you for preventing abuse of national flags are good and worth adopting. You are doing good job. This meeting has been called in that context.”

Later, he sought opinions of other representatives of participating patriotic organizations. Shri. Prasad Mhaiskar and Shri. Sanjay Joshi explained to them various drives like display of posters, holding lectures for students, showing CD on local cable network channels etc jointly undertaken by HJS and Sanatan Sanstha.

Shri. Arvind Baraskar, ‘Shiva-Charitra kathakar’ suggested that awareness should be created amongst students through schools and colleges. Later, District Collector issued necessary orders to concerned Government officers.
