HJS VCD on Holi reaches lakhs of homes in Karnataka facilitating proper celebration of Holi

Bangalore (Karnataka) : On the eve of Holi which was celebrated on the 19th of March 2011 Hindu Janajagruti Samiti Karnataka Unit with the help of cable operators took the lead to educate the society to bring to an end unhealthy practices of forcefully putting colours, misbehavior with ladies and other related wrong practices during festivals. The VCD also depicted the Science behind celebrating Holi and the way Holi is celebrated in different parts of the country. This was done through 18 different cable TV operators all over the state. While some of the cable operators showed the VCD intermittently for a few days, others showed on 18th and 19th a couple of times. More than 32 lakh people took the benefit of the VCD programme especially since it was telecast repeatedly and also since it was in local language Kannada.

Highlights :

1. In Mysore the Cable operator told that the viewers are requesting him to telecast such informative programmes well in advance. They had also seen the VCD on Shivaratri.
2. In Kunigal since some of the viewers called up and requested the cable operator for more such programmes the operator requested HJS seeker Mr. Suma Manjesh to bring all the VCD available in Kannada so that she could show them on a regular basis.
