Lift ban on religious rituals in Sri Vitthal Mandir ! – Dr. Neelam Gorhe

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : The executive officer appointed by the Government on Sri Vitthal – Rukmini Temple Committee has imposed ban on performing rituals like ‘Mahapuja’, ‘bhajan’, ‘keertan’, offer ‘holy sacrament (naivedya)’, ‘padya-puja’, ‘Abhishek’, ‘Dhuparati’, ‘Rajbhog’, ‘Tulshi-puja’, ‘Jaaval ceremony’, chanting etc. in this temple. The management of this temple is under the control of the Government. (Will the Government’s officer dare to act in this manner in case of a place of worship belonging to followers of other religions? And if at all he did dare to do so, would the followers of other religions have tolerated it? – Editor SP) The bullying of this officer and management endangering peace of the area has created severe discontent among the devotees. Shiv Sena’s deputy leader and MLA Dr. Neelam Gorhe made a demand in the Legislative Council that authority of this controversial officer should be transferred to the Zonal Officer and ban on performing religious rituals in the temple should be lifted.

(Congratulations to Shiv Sena MLA, Dr. Neelam Gorhe for raising voice against anti-Hindu Congress Government. Only Shiv Sena raises voice against such incidents; therefore, Hindus feel that they can rely on Shiv Sena. – Editor SP) Dr. Gorhe said further, “The decision recently taken by the ‘Badave’ and ‘Utpat’ of not demanding ‘Dakshina’ from devotees is welcome and laudable.

Presently, the responsibility of performing ‘puja’ of the Deities in the temple is with the ‘badave’, ‘pujari’ and ‘upadhye’. Ban should not be imposed on such ‘puja’. The necessary transparency should be adopted by the Government in its management of the temple including offering good service to devotees, offering food to the devotees as sacrament and for performing religious rituals. The Government should make a declaration in this regard.”

Dr. Gorhe has made various demands but no explanation has been offered by the Government so far. Moreover, none of the MLAs from other parties has taken up this issue. (If the matter would have been involving other religions, would the MLAs from other parties remain so indifferent ?– Editor SP)

One MLA has to make such demand in a country where Hindus are in majority, shows that there is governance like Mughal regime in this country. (Warakaris should unite and raise voice against such Mughal regime to pressurize the Government ! – Editor SP)
