Pune (Maharashtra): Around 100 members of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti will guard the Khadakwasla dam on March 20 and 24 from 10 am to 7 pm to prevent revellers from bathing in the reservoir after celebrating Holi and Rang Panchami respectively. This is the 10th year of this initiative by the organisation. The Samiti has appealed to citizens not to pollute the Khadakwasla reservoir by taking bath after playing Holi, or by throwing plastic carry bags and food items in the water during the celebrations. A statement issued by the Samiti said they have started a campaign to protect the reservoir from pollution. The Holi colours contain chemicals which enter the water supplied to the city.

The organisation has urged like-minded people to join the initiative and register their names on 9404956192.
