Mapusa (Goa): ‘A goat and a cock are sacrificed in a sacrificial fire (Yadnya). Mr. R.R. Patil, Home Minister of Maharashtra, is ready to put a ban on Sanatan Sanstha for that reason. If the patriotic Hindus were terrorists then they would not have taken long to erect tombs of the politicians till now. The politicians should not instigate the Hindus. Hindu is like a sea. Enraged sea when rises it can engulf a mountain too. O, politicians exhibit your daring by speaking against ‘SIMI’, warned Prof. Rajendra Thakur, from Kolhapur. He was addressing the gathering at the Hindu Dharmajagruti Sabha held on the ground near Bodgeshwar Temple on 13th March at Mapusa, organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). 1500 staunch Hindus attended the sabha. Mr. Abhay Vartak, spokesperson of Sanatan Sanstha, Mr. Ramesh Shinde, of HJS and Mr. Jayesh Thali of Gomantak Mandir and Dhaarmik Sanstha Mahasangh, were on the dais on this occasion.

The sabha began with blowing a conch shell and lighting the auspicious lamp at the hands of the dignitaries on the dais. The batus (students of the Ved Pathshala of Sanatan) recited the Ved Mantras. Mrs. Ashwini Pawar from Higher Secondary section of the Sanatan’s Gurukul  gave information about the Gurukul. Ms. Vaidehi Pingale and Ms. Mayuri Dagwar of Secondary section of the Gurukul were felicitated by Prof. Rajendra Thakur. Mr. Ashwin Gaokar, representative of ‘Dainik Sanatan Prabhat’ was felicitated By Prof. Thakur.

Mr. Ramesh Shinde of HJS asked a question that when our Nation is facing so many problems like corruption, terrorism, etc. our citizens are enjoying cricket and are engrossed in watching TV serials and singing-dancing programmes. By this attitude where are they going to take our Nation?

Mr. Abhay Vartak of Sanatan Sanstha said in his address, that the government has yet to prove Hindu terrorism. He was referring to the point of the Maharashtra Government which is trying to put a ban on Sanatan. He said that the Government was trying to appease the Muslims to secure its vote bank by stating Hindus as terrorists. Sanatan never advocated terrorism. Sanatan is only creating awareness among the Hindus about their rights and the injustice meted out to them.

Mr. Jayesh Thali of GMDSM said that the Goa Government was not serious about the thefts and desecration taking place in temples in Goa; so Hindus have to wake up as the time has come.

In the beginning of the sabha, a book having ‘How should the clothes be from spiritual perspective’ title was released on behalf of Sanatan Sanstha and it was released by Prof. Rajendra Thakur.

Memorandums stating the demands – the chowk in Mapusa should be named as ‘Krantiveer Chowk’ and the taxi stand as ‘Swatantryaveer Sawarkar taxi stand’, to be forwarded to Mapusa Muncipal Council, were kept in the sabha. So also another memorandum demanding to stop the rampant conversions in Bardez Taluka to be given to the Deputy Collector, was kept at the sabha venue. A resolution like protecting Temples and protection of the Nation and Dharma were passed unanimously by the gathering.

Compering was done by Ms. Aruni Gadekar and Mast. Amey Prabhu. ‘Vande Mataram’ was presented by Ms. Vaidehi Pingale and Ms. Pooja Jadhav before concluding the sabha. A meeting is convened at Hotel Suhas as a follow up meeting on 18th March at 6.00 pm.
