‘Kumbh Mela Prayagraj 2019’

Devotees gathered for holy dip at ‘Kumbh-kshetra’

Prayagraj (Kumbhnagari) : Devotees had the second holy bath of ‘Kumbh Mela’ in enthusiastic manner and with devotion on 21st January, on the occasion of ‘Paush Pournima’. 60 lakh devotees had holy dip at ‘Triveni Sangam’ amidst acclamation of ‘Gangamata ki Jai’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’. The observance and ‘puja’ of ‘Paush Pournima’ was started from 20th January. Devotees gave importance to holy bath, making offerings and chanting since holy bath and making offerings earns merit on this auspicious occasion. The local administration had made proper arrangements and provided security for this ‘Rajyogi snan’.

40 lakh devotees had holy dip in River Ganga till 12 noon. Later, the number of devotees increased. Devotees will stay in tent for one month at ‘Sangam’ from today after holy bath and they will spend time in singing ‘bhajan-keertan’. They will spend time with Saints for God realization; they will have meals only once in a day during this period; sacrificing their comforts and will have ‘Ganga-snan’ thrice; thus leading life of hermits.

Administration and police disregard Court’s decision !

An appeal was being made by local administration and police as per Court’s orders that video-recording or taking photographs was prohibited at ‘Triveni-sangam’ whereas there were CCTV cameras fitted at that place and police were video-recording the events. Devotees, reporters and news-channels’ photographers also disregarded the appeal made by police and video-recorded even at ‘Sangam’.

Attractive boards displayed by Sanatan at various places in ‘Kumbhkshetra’ welcoming devotees !

Highlights

1. There were huge hoardings giving publicity to the PM’s visit at ‘Triveni-sangam’ but other organizations were not allowed to display boards at that place.

2. Small children were peeing in pots kept for throwing trash but their parents were not paying attention to children doing wrong things.

3. Local administration had not made any arrangements for changing of clothes for women-devotees; therefore, men-women were changing clothes in that crowd at ‘Sangam’.

4. Many Sadhus did ‘puja’, recited ‘stotras’ and ‘mantras’ at ‘Sangam’ after holy bath.

5. Few devotees were returning to their homes, singing ‘bhajans’, playing chimes and ‘mrudung’ after holy bath.

Police ask to remove welcome-boards !

Boards welcoming devotees were held by Sanatan Sanstha and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti at ‘Triveni Sangam’. Seekers were standing there, holding boards since 4.00 a.m. but after 8.30 a.m., police forced seekers to take out these boards and they even stopped seekers from hanging boards. (Police should explain how the boards were causing hindrance in their security arrangements; else Hindus might feel that such action was taken by police only out of their Sanatan-hatred. – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
