Mumbai: HJS creates awareness about ‘Valentine Day’

Mumbai (Maharashtra) : To prevent psychological conversion of Hindu youth by following western culture of celebrating ‘Valentine Day’, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) recently undertook a campaign at Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Ambarnath.

The topic was explained in ten private coaching classes at Bhandup, Nerul, Ghanasoli and Koparkhairane which was attended by 550 students and 13 teachers. 500 Pamphlets were distributed on the occasion explaining about how celebration of Valentine Day is psychological conversion of Hindu youth. Display boards on ‘Jumbo Xerox’ were put up outside 5 colleges in Navi Mumbai so also 29 banners were put up at various places. In Belapur, banners were displayed during ‘Bhandara’ program in Saibaba Mandir and a signature drive was undertaken to protest against this ‘Black Day’ which is detrimental to Indian culture. In ‘Sahyadri Junior College’ and ‘Deepak Tutorials’ at Bhandup, Mumbai, lecture was organized explaining the subject.

Mr. Sunil Kadam, Vijay Bhor, Nagesh Sutar, Hirvekar, Giramkar and Mrs. Rajani Paran took part in this drive. Pamphlets were distributed outside Vaidya, Bhavan’s and M. M. College in Andheri so also at Santacruz, Chetana College and Andheri (W). In a Shiv Sena gathering held in Andheri (E), its councilor Rajul Patel was given a pamphlet. In all, 2500 pamphlets were distributed.

Guidance was arranged at MSM, Motilal Nagar, Goregaon were for enlightening on ‘Valentine Day’ celebrations which was attended by 50 members.

Mr. Vijay Kadam, Mr. Prasanna kumar and Mr. Sanjay Shinde extended special support. Mr. Yogesh Surve and Mr. Ninad Oak of HJS explained importance and greatness of Hindu Dharma and about attacks on Hindu Dharma taking place in different manner. They also presented before the audience, progress made by HJS through various activities.

  • All the members gave their feedback that they learnt about how through celebration of different days like ‘Mother’s Day’, ‘Father’s Day’, Valentine Day so also 1st January as new year of Christians, we are in  a way following Christianity during the year and henceforth, they will not celebrate such days.

Ambarnath (Maharashtra) : Students from Mahatma Gandhi School and Karkhanis Junior College were given guidance against celebration of ‘Valentine Day’. It was explained that how it was wrong to celebrate ‘Valentine Day’ and how following ‘Dharmacharan’  was beneficial. Mrs. Kishori Kulkarni, Mrs. Girija Bhave, Mrs. Surekha Jadhav, Mrs. Vedika Palan, Mrs. Varsha Agnihotri and Mr. Ulhas Chaudhary of HJS conducted such guidance for the benefit of 500 students. Teachers were provided address of HJS website and handbills were distributed among students.

Supervisors Mr. V. P. Patil and Mrs. Vaidya of Mahatma Gandhi School, teachers Mrs. Hande and Mrs. Kulkarni appreciated the drive undertaken by HJS and advised HJS to continue giving guidance on various subjects assuring their support.
