Mumbai: The ‘black’ day which devaluates human decency and morality is ‘Valentine’s Day’. Hindu youth should have a proper perspective on the issue. With this aim in mind, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) undertook an enlightenment drive near Mulund (E) and Ghatkopar (W) railway stations. Mr. Satish Sonar, Sunil Kadam, Ganesh Kachare and Mrs. Sheetal Chavan, the activists of HJS made announcements over loudspeaker. About 50 activists took part in the drive at both the places. 2100 Handbills were distributed on the occasion with a message that ‘Cultural conversion of Hindu young men and women means ‘Valentine Day’’.

1. The display boards exhibited by HJS were attracting lot of attention. Many people were stopping and reading the matter and they were enquiring with HJS activists to understand the subject.

2. Mr. Vishwas Sutrakar, a NRI based in London also joined the drive and made announcements over loudspeaker.

3. Police extended cooperation for this drive.

Mr. Sutrakar said about the married life in London that 97% of the people go for divorce after marriage. Only Indian culture teaches how one needs to live life. He said that he would like to join such drives of HJS and will be available upto the end of next month.

Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra):
HJS had made an appeal to banish ‘Valentine Day’ by visiting number of schools, colleges, hostels and professors, principals, managing committee members of educational institutes etc. As a part of this campaign, HJS activists guided Science and Commerce students of ‘Saraswati Bhuvan Arts, Commerce and Science College’. 2500 pamphlets were distributed enlightening people against celebration of ‘Valentine Day’. Response received from the students was very good. Many speakers explained about ‘love jihad’ and how it is dangerous for Hindu women. 148 students, impressed with HJS activities, registered their names for taking part in such activities.

Guidance to students at colleges in Kopargaon

Lectures were organized at K. J. Somayya (Senior) and K. B. Rohamare (Junior) college so also at Sree Satguru Gangagiri Maharaj Science, Gautam Arts and Sanjivani Commerce College in Kopargaon on the occasion of Valentine Day and students were explained as to why this Day should not be celebrated. 300 students attended the lecture and 150 handbills were distributed opposing celebration of this Day. Boards were also displayed for guiding people.

3000 pamphlets distributed in Nashik

Nashik (Maharashtra): 3000 pamphlets were distributed against celebrations of ‘Valentine Day’. Pamphlets were distributed even outside Arts – Commerce College in Pavannagar and the drive was undertaken at Gangapur Road, Bhosla Military High School also. Display boards were exhibited at 5 places and 300 handbills were distributed by going door to door.
