HJS asks to set up action committee to stop abuse of national flags on 15 August

Representations submitted to District Collector and Superintendent of Police (SP) in this context. Why need for submitting such representations should arise ? Why doesn’t the Govt. take action on its own ?

Varanasi : ‘Action Committee’ should be set up as per orders issued by Mumbai High Court for prevention of abuse of national flags, taking place on the occasion of 15th August and social organizations should be associated for its implementation, was the demand made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) through a representation submitted to District Collector through the medium of additional City Magistrate (third). Similar representation was also submitted to SP. Shri. Anil Singh Sonu, national President of ‘Vishwa Sanatan Sena’; advocate Kamaleshchandra Tripathi, national President of ‘India with Wisdom’ Group; Shri. Ravi Pratap Shrivastav, President of ‘Hindu Jagaran Manch’; Shri. Shubham Mishra, ‘Mahamantri’ of ‘Hindu Yuva Shakti’; Shri. Kamalendrakumar Singh, ‘Mahamantri’ of ‘Collectorate Gazetted Bar’; Shri. Rajan Kesari of HJS; advocate Vinodkumar Patel and other patriotic citizens were present on the occasion. HJS has been undertaking such drive for the past 16 years.

Demand was also made through representation for issue of press release, posters and advertisements for prevention of abuse of national flags. Demand for taking action against makers of plastic national flags was also made. Permission was sought for conducting quiz contest in schools and showing VCD on this subject in theatres and on cable channels.

HJS had filed a petition in the year 2011 in connection with prevention of insult of national flags occurring in different manners. The Court had issued orders to the Government for setting up ‘Action Committee’ for the purpose and for inclusion of social organizations in this drive.

A circular was issued by Central and State Home Ministry and Education Department in this context.
