Discourse held on ‘Importance of women in families’ at Ernakulam

Ernakulam : A meeting of Sahodaran Ayyappan Family members was held at Ponnurunni, Ernakulam on 8th July. On this occasion, activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti were invited to speak on the ‘Importance of women in families’.

Today, due to the importance given to feminism, many families are collapsing. In Bharat, women have been given importance since time immemorial. Maitreyi, Gargi, were highly learned. In Manusmruti it is said that ‘God resides in the family where ladies are worshipped’. This was said by Kum. Aditi Sukhtankar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti while speaking on the occasion. Women are the pillars of strength in the family. It is the responsibility of women to develop good virtues (sanskars) in children. For this, they have to teach children good virtues right from the beginning, correct them when they go wrong and give small punishments as per the need. But mainly as children mimc their parents in their childhood, it is the responsibility of parents to behave ideally, she said. Importance of chanting one’s Kuladevata’s Name was also explained.

Around 45 people benefitted from it. After the discourse, a stall exhibiting satvik products and Holy Texts was also displayed.
