Kochi: Three activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti saw traders in Fort Kochi, a tourist spot at Kochi, Kerala selling T-shirts and ladies's skirt tops with pictures of Lord Ganesh, Lord Krushna, Lord Hanuman and many other deities.

Most of these shops cater to foreign tourists. The activists told the vendors to stop selling these clothing as it was denigration of deities and hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.

In some shops the shop owners were told to remove clothes, which displayed the Indian flag on it. The shopkeepers immediately agreed and some of them thanked activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for correcting them.

As a part of on going campaign against denigration of deities HJS is also trying to find out the main sources of such clothes, which have deities pictures on them.
