It is most essential to maintain family system and inculcate moral values in the future generations ! – Pujya Vijayshankar Mehta

Sangli (Maharashtra): India may not possess wealth, modern technology and many other things compared to wealthy nations in the world; but India has family system which the western countries do not have. It is, however, necessary to maintain this family system and inculcate moral values in future generations.

The above guidance was given by Pujya Vijayshankar Mehta from Ujjain while talking to Shri. Dattatreya Retharekar, Mrs. Gauri Khilare, Miss Pratibha Tavare, members of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and Mrs. Sandhya Agarkar of Sanatan Sanstha who called on him to seek his blessings for activities of their organizations. Pujya Mehta has come to Sangli to participate in a 3-day series of lectures.

HJS members apprised him of various activities and drives undertaken by HJS e.g. against anti-Hindu painter M F Husain for drawing obscene paintings of Hindu Deities, proposed anti-superstitions Act, taking over management of temples by the Government etc. Mrs. Agarkar informed him about books published by Sanatan Sanstha which he very much appreciated. He also offered suggestions that the books could be put on video-clips and on website so as to reach maximum number of people and the books could be kept even in beauty parlors etc.

While emphasizing on the importance of family system, Pujya Mehta said, “Many times it is observed that the parents or grand-parents go for spiritual meet (satsangs); but start fighting after going home or their behavior is not proper; therefore, the young generation loses faith in them and ‘satsangs’. Our behaviour is the most important thing. Family system is the base and if we strengthen it, we will get its good effects. Keep the future generations as our goal and try to teach them moral values in the language they understand.”
