Denigration of Sree Ganesh by Ganesh Namkeen Bhandar

Indore: The ‘Ganesh Namkeen Bhandar’ from Indore, the makers of dry snacks have printed a caricature of Sree Ganesh on the snacks packets thus making mockery of Sree Ganesh. Shri Hemant Khatri of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti pointed out to Shri. Paras Jain, the director of Ganesh Namkeen Bhandar that the picture of Sree Ganesh printed on the packets was a mockery of the Lord and it hurt feelings of Hindus.

Shri. Jain said that the picture was of the elephant ‘Appu’ and not of Lord Ganapati. When it was also pointed out to Shri. Jain that there was a ‘sign’ along with the picture of Ganapati which is worshipped by the Jain sectarians. The packets are thrown on the road or in the dust-bin thus desecrating Lord Ganesh as also the holy sign. Although Shri. Jain accepted that the sign is worshipped by Jains, he did not agree that the picture caused denigration of Lord Ganesh. When Shri. Khatri contacted Shri. Jain once again, he was told that there was a stock of one lakh of such packets. Once the stock gets over, the picture will be changed.
