Change the name of ‘Islampur’ to ‘Ishwarpur’ !

Memorandum forwarded to Government officials on behalf of Shri Shivpratishthan Hindustan

Ishwarpur (District Sangli) : District Collector, Ananda Kamble was given a memorandum on behalf of Shri Shivpratishthan Hindustan demanding a decision about naming the city Islampur as ‘Ishwarpur’ taking cognisance of the thousands of signatures of the citizens in that regard.

Other demands made at that time

  • To broaden the roads by removing the encroachments on the main road and put the speed beakers as per the traffic rules. Unnecessary speed beakers should be removed.
  • Lot of filth has been collected in the centrally located playground due to encroachment. Hence players cannot play there. Essential action should be taken in this respect.
  • Complete the delayed works pertaining to roads and drains in the city and towns.
  • Contract-labourers cleaning toilets, gutters, garbage collectors, and others should be provided with safety material to keep them away from health hazards and they must be paid as per the law concerning their salary.

A warning stating that, if the above mentioned demands are not carried out then severe constitutional agitation will be held. Mr. Gajanan Patil, Mr. Balasheb Gaikwad, Mr. Shekhar Khandekar, Mr. Sujit Shinde, Mr. Sushant Suryavanshi of Shri Shivpratishthan Hindustan, Mr. Satish Idate, Valwa Taluka president of Rashtriy Samaj Party, Mr. Santosh Kumbhar, Mr. Bharat Jain of HJS and other workers were present on the occasion.
