Saints, ‘Hindutvavadis’, dignitaries and local residents oppose to ‘Sunburn’ festival

‘Sunburn’ festival, in which there is promotion of perverted things from western culture; there is free availability and consumption of drugs and it is organized disregarding all rules and regulations, is likely to be held at Moshi this year. Last year, despite opposition from local residents and ‘Hindutvavadis’, this festival was held at Kesanand and considering the illegal excavation carried out by the organizers without prior permissions and breach of resolution banning liquor consumption by Kesanand village, it was expected that the festival would be driven out of Pune this year; however, exhibiting height of insolence, this festival is all set to start in the Saints’ land. On one hand, claiming that youth is power of India, the Government is encouraging programs like ‘Sunburn’ under the excuse of promoting tourism; although it is drawing youth to drug addictions.

Local residents from Moshi and surrounding areas, ‘Hindutvavadi’ organizations and ‘Warkari Sampradaya’ have taken a stand against organizing this festival. Hindu culture advocates worshipping of Sun but not burning of Sun. Sanatan culture has ability to destroy inauspicious things and give rise to brilliance but going after ominous things like ‘Sunburn’ is like going after ordinary stones, instead of diamonds. Let the youth of this country be free of such western clutches and let them worship radiance so that the youth would become active and be able to regain past glory of this country, is a prayer unto God !

Unite against ‘Sunburn’ ! – P.P. Govindadev Giri Maharaj (aka Acharya Kishoreji Vyas)

Young generation takes to addiction due to ‘Sunburn’ festival; instead of keeping away from them. The future generation of this country will become only pleasure-hunting and will develop dereliction towards their duties; leading to country becoming weak. The capacity to fight against problems faced by this country also reduces. It is therefore, duty of Maharashtra Government to refuse permission for holding ‘Sunburn’ in villages which are near places of pilgrimage like Alandi and Dehu. If such program is held on the banks of River Indrayani, it will be insult of Saints and we will have to go through serious consequences in future. It is an appeal to one and all, to come together against this festival and oppose it in the manner as admissible under the Constitution of this country !

‘Sunburn’ in Moshi is desecration of Saint Dnyaneshwar and Saint Tukaram ! – Samartha-devotee ‘Pujya’ Sunil Chincholkar

Millions of ‘Warkaris’ have been spreading divinity on Dehu- Alandi road by taking out ‘waaris’ on this route amidst chanting and acclaiming Saints like Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram.  Therefore, holding ‘Sunburn’ festival on this route at Moshi village is desecration of Saint Dnyaneshwar and Saint Tukaram. ‘Sunburn’ is a perverted medium of selling women’s chastity. If such program is held at Moshi, it will be like ringing death-bell for Shiv Sena- BJP Government. So, if they want to allow ‘Sunburn’ festival, the Government should honestly declare that they have lost all connections with ‘Hindutva’.

….then ‘Warkari Sampradaya’ will take to streets ! – H.B.P. Ramachandra Maharaj Penore, ‘Warkari Sampradaya’

Saint Tukaram Maharaj says, “Whatever is taught by Saints should be followed. Saint Dnyaneshwar and Saint Tukaram Maharaj have done so much for society which should have been preserved, nurtured and developed further but ‘Sunburn’ is trying to destroy Saints’ teachings. ‘Sunburn’ festival targets youth working in IT (Information Technology) industry drawing huge salaries. I feel that cultured people of Pune and cultured IT class should not come under influence of ‘Sunburn’ and go down the drain of ‘Sunburn’. ‘Hindutvavadis’ from every field will oppose to this festival; but if the Government didn’t pay heed to such opposition, ‘Warkari Sampradaya’ will take to streets and oppose.

‘Sunburn’ will not be allowed to be held at Moshi ! – H.B.P. Mangalatai Kambale, Founder, ‘Sant Bahinabai Mahila Prasadik Dindi (Dehu)’ and ‘Dharmacharya’, VHP, Western Maharashtra

A program like ‘Sunburn’ promoting western culture will not be allowed to be held at Moshi. All Warkaris will foil such attempt. Hindu Dharma is our glory. Hindu women and young generation are constituents; that will maintain the sanctity of Hindu Dharma. If young generation falls prey to different types of addictions, they will not know the importance of God, nation and Dharma. Organizing program like ‘Sunburn’ is unrighteousness. It is a conpsiracy to eliminate Hindu Dharma. Such programs should be driven out of this country. All ‘Hindutvavadi’ organizations are working together and I also extend support and give them motherly strength. ‘Jai Shriram’ is our motto and Hanuman is our power; therefore, such program should not be held here.

Government lacks the will to cancel ‘Sunburn’ ! – Sharad Ponkshe, actor

Anything can be done with the help of power and money. The Government machinery is extending support ‘Sunburn’.  Programs like ‘Sunburn’ are destroying good values from our society. It can be stopped by the Government; but there is lack of willpower to do it.

Citizens from Chimbali, Moi, Kelgaon and Kuruli villages of Pune district come together against ‘Sunburn’ !

Pass resolution against Sunburn !

Chinchwad (Pune) : In December 2017, ‘Sunburn festival’, known to encourage addictions and is a big market for drugs, is going to be held in the holy land of Alandi and Dehu. This festival tries to push young generation in the well of addictions. Therefore, residents of Chimbali, Moi, Kuruli and Kelgaon have opposed to this festival. Local residents of Chimbali held ‘Gram-sabha’ and passed resolution against holding of this festival. Similar resolutions are going to be passed by Kuruli, Moi and Kelgaon villages condemning such festival. (Congratulations to residents of Chimbali for holding ‘Gram-sabha’ and passing resolution to oppose ‘Sunburn’ festival ! Residents of other places should also show such unity against attacks on nation and Dharma.- Editor, Hindujagruti) Volunteers of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and other ‘Hindutvavadis’ visited the above villages and made people aware of the problem.

Shri. Bharat Awate standing in centre while explaining the topic during Kelgaon ‘Gram-sabha’

Resolution banning consumption of liquor was quashed to hold ‘Sunburn’ festival held last year at Kesanand. People are familiar with what happened then and they are going to oppose to this festival.

Programs like ‘Sunburn’ should be banished from holy land by Govt. ! – Resolution by Chimbali ‘Gram-sabha’

We, local residents, are fortunate that we have got the opportunity to live in holy land of Saints. ‘Sunburn’ festival is going to be organized at Moshi in December 2017 though it promotes perversions found in western culture. We learnt about the festival through various newspapers and social organizations. Such program encouraging wrong things was held last year in 2016, at Kesanand near Wagholi; despite opposition from many organizations, which are patrons of Indian culture. If there is move to organize the program even this year, at Moshi, it should be immediately stopped.

Few important points of the resolution

1. Holding anti-cultural programs like ‘Sunburn’ in Saints’ land means destroying sacredness of the land.

2. Last year, the organizers carried out illegal excavations, had cut trees and intimidated local residents through ‘bouncers’ appointed by them. Youth were found attending the program in indecent clothes.

3. Most of the area in and around Moshi is residential and local residents would be put to inconvenience due to the high voltage lights and deafening music, which is part of this program.

4. Last year, the set of festival had caught fire; however, people were somehow saved.  It can therefore, raise doubts even about security arrangements.

5. Last year, police had declared through newspaper that permission from the police for holding such program was not obtained.

People from these villages feel that young boys and girls from these villages might take wrong path due to holding of ‘Sunburn’ festival; destroying many families in the bargain. We, people from Chimbali, Taluka Khed openly condemn ‘Sunburn’ being held at Saints’ land. Such program promoting western culture should be driven out by the local administrations from holy land of Saints and we are giving letters with such demand.

(Copy of this resolution has been submitted on behalf of Gram-panchayat to Commissioner of Chinchwad-Pimpri Municipal Corporation so also to Home Minister and Cultural Minister of the State.)

Ideal governance of Kuruli village !

Shri. Chandrakant Badhale, recently appointed as ‘Sarpanch’ was requested by HJS volunteers to present this topic during ‘Gram-sabha’ in meeting. He immediately agreed for the same. (Congratulations to Shri. Chandrakant Badhale who promptly granted permission for presenting subject related to attack on nation and Dharma ! Such Sarpanchs are required everywhere ! – Editor, Hindujagruti) The ‘Gram-sabha’ was to be held at 11 a.m. and it was started on time. As per the plan, after presenting various topics, HJS volunteers presented the topic of ‘Sunburn festival’. All participants attending the ‘sabha’ promised to pass resolution against ‘Sunburn’. The Gram-sabha’ was attended by 400 residents.

More than 40 youth attended the program and they promised to participate in demonstrations to be staged against ‘Sunburn’. They also asked why the Government was granting permissions for holding wrong types of programs.

‘Sunburn’ festival must be cancelled : BJP municipal councilor, Vasantsheth Borate demands with local administration thro’ representation

Chinchwad : ‘Sunburn’ is described as a commercial electronic dance music program for youth but it draws them towards addictions and is against our culture; therefore, it has to be cancelled. This festival can spoil the name of Moshi and Pimpri-Chinchwad. The Government and local administration should not grant them any permissions, was the demand made by BJP municipal councilor Vasantsheth Borate through a representation submitted to Chief Executive Officer, Satish Khadake of Pimpri-Chinchwad ‘Navanagar Vikas Pradhikaran’.

What the dignitaries say about ‘Sunburn’

The Govt. is responsible for Sunburn held without obtaining proper permissions ! – Chandrakant Warghade, Mahiti Seva Samiti

A program like ‘Sunburn’ should be banned not only in Maharashtra but also all over the country. This festival was held at Kesanand last year and the organizers were asked to obtain 12 permissions by the District Collector. It was, however, held without compliance of 7 permissions. The road to the program was passing through land owned by Forest Department and lot of excavation was carried out. There was scam even in sale of tickets. The tickets sold for Rs. 52,000/- didn’t show any entertainment tax; thus the Government was also cheated. The organizers were charged fine of Rs. 50-60 lakhs since they didn’t pay adequate stamp duty. Additional fine was charged for mismanagement and illegal programs; but Atul Choradia, the owner of land is financially very strong; therefore, he bribed everyone, right from staff to Gram-sevak, members to Talathi and ministers and carried on with the program the way he wanted.

The Government did ‘Panchnama’ and filed a case when opposition increased from organizations at all levels for preventing permission from the Government and Forest Department; but action was taken after whole festival was over; therefore, the Government is responsible for the festival. We shall always be in favour of cancellation of the program.

Such programs should not be held on any holy land of India ! – ‘Hindubhushan’ H.B.P. Shyam Maharaj Rathod

Programs against Saints’ teachings and programs which could destroy young generation are held under ‘Sunburn’; which is now proposed to be held in the sacred land of Saints. Our young generation should note that our ideals should be Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dharmaveer Sambhji Maharaj. Prime Minister is saying that the country belongs to youth of this country and wants youth to shoulder responsibiltiy of India so that India becomes a superpower. On the other hand, such programs are granted permission.

Our youth has Saints’ teachings in front of them, as ideals. Such programs should therefore, be cancelled and youth should not fall prey to such programs. We shall always oppose such programs !

Today’s youth should be ready to manage this country ! – H.B.P. Narhari Maharaj Chaudhari, Maharashtra Rajya Warkari Mahamandal’s Secretary

Saints have influence over whole of Maharashtra. ‘Warkari Sampradaya’, therefore, feels that no inappropriate thing should occur in Saints’ land. ‘Sunburn’ is destroying life of today’s youth. Goa Government has banished this program from that State. Today’s youth needs to become capable of managing the nation. The Government and elected representatives should not allow permission for such program.
