Goa : Hindus oppose screening of ‘Padmavati’ movie

A representation is given to the theatre owner and BJP MLA Mr. Pravin Zatye in Goa : Unless the objectionable scenes are deleted from the film, it should not be screened in the state

Panaji : Rajput Community from Rajasthan and patriot Citizens have made a demand with theatres owner and BJP MLA Mr. Pravin Zatye in Goa not to allow the screening of the film Padmavati unless the objectionable scenes are deleted from the film.

It is stated in the representation that, during ancient times women from prestigious families were never performing dance before the community, on the contrary they were brave fighters carrying swords in hand for making their enemies dance. Despite our history being so glorious and inspiring, Bhansali has distrorted the history very badly and has shown Queen Padmavati dancing in the song, ‘Ghumar’. This is a great insult to the Queen Padmavati. Freedom of expression does not allow any film producer to interfere in history. If it is done then it is a crime as per the constitution, it is also a cognizable offence according to Indian Penal Code section 295 A. Bhansali and supporters of the freedom of expression in art ahould remember that, as freedom of expression is important in any art, history too has the same importance. The same importance is given to the picture engraved on the mind, faith and respect.
