Representation submitted to Dy. District Collector at Akola with demand to ban firecrackers

Akola : Pictures of Hindus’ Deities and great national leaders are printed on covering of crackers. When such crackers are burst, pictures of Deities and great national leaders are torn to pieces and get scattered on roads, in trash, trampled over etc which leads to denigration of Deities and insult of national leaders; thus hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. It is attack on national identity; therefore, manufacture and sale of such crackers should be stopped by the Government, was the demand made by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) through representation submitted to Dy. District Collector. Shri. Ajay Khot, Sou. Madhuri More, Kum. Nidhi Bais and advocate Smt. Vaishali Gawand were present on the occasion.

Crackers made in China are sold on large scale in India. They are made with poisonous chemicals like ‘Potassium Chloride’ and ‘Potassium P. Chloride’. Use of these chemicals is banned in India; therefore, Chinese crackers, though cheap, are most polluting and Indian Government should impose ban on Chinese crackers, was the other demand made through representation.

Kolhapur : Among the products sold by China in India, crackers are forming large part in last few years. Percentage of poisonous chemicals is more than the norm in such crackers. Indian Government has imposed ban on Chinese crackers. As per ‘Explosives Act, 2008’, keeping explosives made outside India and their sale is a punishable offence. Even then, Chinese crackers are brought to India illegally and sold. The Government should, therefore, immediately impose ban on sale of such crackers; so also production and sale of crackers with pictures of Hindu Deities and great national leaders should be permanently banned. The above demand was made through representation submitted to Tehasildar Aparna More which was addressed to the District Collector.
