Chemical colours used for painting idols cause water pollution and not PoP : Scientists

  • Will the so-called environmentalists and anti-Hindu Dharma ANiS note this fact before they oppose idol-immersion in the name of pollution ?
  • Contaminated chemical water released by factories cause pollution which doesn’t require a scientist to certify the same; then why environmentalists do not stage agitations against such pollution ?

Nagpur : Chemical colours used for painting idols are more harmful for environment but Plaster of Paris (PoP) doesn’t cause water pollution and it is very less harmful. The above claim has been made by senior scientist Dr. Pramod Moghe in his book. He is conducting research on water pollution. Research conducted by Dr. Moghe is considered to be important is considered to be important in the background of opposition to immersion of PoP idols by environmentalists.

PoP is also used as fertilizer. There is no need to use ammonium carbonate for converting it into ammonium sulphate. Poisonous ammonia and nitrate could be produced with the use of ammonium carbonate. Colours used for painting idols have poisonous chemicals like lead, aluminum, zinc etc which are dangerous for water resources. If part of colour is separated from PoP idol, it can be directly used as fertilizer. Dr. Moghe has stated in his book that PoP is a natural mineral.
