‘Prudent’ channel telecast one-sided news against Sanatan

Panaji (Goa) : Investigating Agencies have not accused Sanatan in any manner in the Margao bomb blast case. Presently, the matter is sub-judice and hearing of the case is going on at the Sessions Court, Margao on priority basis. Even then, ‘Prudent’ channel telecast one-sided news against Sanatan from the evening of 15th October and for the whole day of 16th October on the occasion of completion of one year since the said incident. Many well-wishers of Sanatan called up its ashram at Ramnathi to register protest against the news published by ‘Prudent’ channel.

It was shown again and again on this channel that the purpose of the blast was to create social disharmony. It was stated several times on the said channel that terrorism had no religion implying Hindus as terrorists. Statements against Sanatan by father of Yogesh Naik who had died in the said blast, anti-Sanatan Jawahar Barwe of Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti and Ramesh Gawas were shown frequently on the channel so also statements of Mr. Veerendra Marathe,  Trustee of Sanatan Sanstha were shown in parts misleading the people. Every effort was made to show that people were considering Sanatan Sanstha as guilty for bomb blast at Margao. The news also included feedback of Paresh Prabhu, the editor of ‘Dainik Navprabha’ against whom Sanatan has filed a case of libel, Police Inspector Santosh Desai of Margao and opinions of other two police officers about the blast. The presentation of the topic by the newsreader, overall presentation of the news and the persons giving their views on the subject was all leading to defamation of the Sanstha.
