Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) submitted a representation to Shri. Eknath Khadase, the Opposition leader in the State Assembly demanding cancellation of anti-superstitions Act as it is aimed at attacking Hindu Dharma.

Professor Shyam Manav, the President of ‘All India Andha-shraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANiS) has published an article in the issue dated 14th July 2012 of the newspaper ‘Dainik Punyanagari’ titled ‘Sanatan masks oppose black magic Bill’. He has accused Sanatan through this article.

There was an open forum organised by Warkari Sena and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) at ‘Rajaram Dixit Vachanalaya’, Nagpur, in order to understand the real nature of the ‘Anti-Superstitions Bill’ which the Government is trying to pass for the last 8 years and is facing lot of opposition

On one hand the government is cancelling acts like ‘POTA’ and on the other hand it is all set to pass unnecessary Anti-faith bills. One fails to understand the logic behind this. When the government says ‘Terrorism does not have any religion’ and is partial towards the Muslims it expects us to accept it without thinking.

Dr. Narendra Dabholkar and Shyam Manav who are born as Hindus, have never undertaken any drive against the wrong culture or against celebration of New Year on the eve of 31st December; but it is very unfortunate that both of them are interfering in religious matters of Hindus and trying to drift them apart from Dharma.

When Dr. Dabholkar of ANS is asked that why does he sees superstitions of only Hindus; he says that he is trying to clean his house first. I want to tell him that before cleaning your house, i.e. shortcomings in Hindu Dharma, first try to know your house, study it and understand its expansiveness. What ANS is doing under the name of eradication of superstitions is not cleaning but destroying a good house. – Dr. Athavale

In case of a crime, police and court know the need for law but neither of them has made a demand for any such law. It has nowhere been mentioned that the existing laws were inadequate to prevent crimes related to superstitions. Action is taken against such kind of crimes even now, as given in writing by Police Department of Maharashtra Government through information sought under RTI. Then where is the need for such law?

The Congress Government is hatching a plot to pass this Act in the forthcoming winter session of the Legislative Assembly. Framing of the Bill is done in such refined manner that an average Hindu person will not immediately understand the purpose of passing this Act.
