In the background of the session, press conference was held by the Government on Sahyadri Guest House which was attended by the CM as also Dy. CM. While talking about the Anti-Superstitions Act, the CM said, “The Government is going to try to achieve the basic concept behind passing this Act by attending to the objections raised by some people.”

Anti-Hindu ‘Anti- superstitions Bill’ approved in meeting of the Legislature April 10, 2011
Anti-superstitions Bill which brings restrictions on Hindus from following ‘Dharmacharan’, has been approved by the Legislature. Yesterday, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had assured that the Act would be passed after carrying out modifications so that there would be no restrictions on Warakaris and performing religious ceremonies; but the promise was not kept.
