Does Sachin Tendulkar respect MF Husain more than Hindu Deities?

Mumbai: Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar's act of accepting a painting from renowned artist MF Husain has met with criticism from a Hindu organisation (Hindu Janajagruti Samiti), which has demanded an apology from the cricketer.
"We condemn Sachin's visit to 'anti-Hindu' painter MF Husain in the UK during his present cricket tour of England," Manoj Solanki, spokesman of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Goa, said in a press release held in Panaji on Sunday.
Tendulkar had accepted a special autographed painting from Husain, who had been under fire for his controversial paintings of Hindu deities.
"It appears that Sachin was not fully conversant about the nature of `obscene' paintings of Hindu deities and Bharat Mata by Husain," Solanki said.
He said Tendulkar has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus and also the national sentiments.
"Husain is facing 1,250 police complaints for hurting the Hindu religious sentiments, but he has fled the country to avoid action," he noted.

It is really unfortunate that Sachin has committed such a grave mistake. probably he is not aware of what hussain had done to hinduism.
And it is always the hindus who act agains hinduism and some of the socalled intellectuals find that by doing so they gain some sort of status among the . it is really sad that such stupid people given undue respect.
We are still following the slavery system imposed by the British on us. The so called intellectals are the children of the people who were the servants of the British.

Sachin could have been blissfully ignorant of the consequences of accepting such gifts. However, the right thing to do, is to return it - preferably in a press conference.
An important aspect however is that how much does it bothers Sachin, that Hussain is such a hypocrite and uncivilised egotist ? Does he even consider himself a Hindu ?? - or is he just a 'Global Citizen' (read.. a new age Indian, bothered only about paychecks and comfort)

Well let these so called secular politicians (Mr. Naik) and Shoba De write these kind of views against any Muslim ritual, let us see. Let them write about the leaked out secret visits by the famous personalities to Dargas.... They will not dare do so...because they are after publicity and vote garnering or they are tired of having no issues to talk about.
Well, let them write against MF Hussains painting of Bharat Mata (which is a national and secular issue). First let them understand that there is a purpose for these rituals, there is a meaning and cause and effect. If they want to learn then they should go to where knowledge is.

Hussain i guess never acted like a fundamentalist!! in the true sense of the word.But for him,as a responsible person its imp to respect the faith of others and not hurt them which he is potraying through his paintings. why doesnt he try to paint islamic scriptures and Allah himself with his vivid imagination? I don't know what happened to sachin. I had an impression that Maharashtrians are strong Hindus. But this act of Sachin made me very sad. I don't think any one should has the right to ask for an apology from Sachin. Only thing is that sachin should himself regret and come forward with an apology.
By the way every one here is asking others to unite. What do you mean by unity of the Hindus unless we solve our basic everyday problems like caste, region and many more tags. First of all try to assess yourself and become only a Hindu. WE WILL GET UNITED.
