Bhaurad: Some anti-Hindu persons desecrated statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by putting a garland of shoes around its neck. This resulted in causing tension in the area. A large crowd gathered and took out a March and ‘gheraoed’ the office of ‘Gram-panchayat’. Shri. Balmukund Bhirad, the President of Zilha Parishad and police officers made an appeal to the mob to calm down when the locals did an ‘abhishek’ of milk on the statue acclaiming Chhatrapati Shivaraya. Police however, did not investigate the matter to find the culprit; in fact, they were trying to patch up the matter.
(We do not need such anti-Hindu and disobedient policemen. We need police who will punish the offenders and not those who are interested in patching up with the offenders. – Editor)
