Plight of Hindu temples in Maharashtra and the irresponsible behavior of the Congress State Govt.

More than 2000 cases of theft in temples resulting in losses of more than Rs. 3.08 crores !

To change this plight, Hindu Rashtra needs to be established wherein rulers will be genuinely devoted to the nation and Dharma

In past 6-1/4 years, only 31% cases of solved !

Mumbai :  There have been 2062 cases of theft in temples reported in Maharashtra (who is leading crime rate across the nation), during January 2008 to April 2014. The amount of things stolen by robbers is Rs. 3,08,51,269. It indicates that temples are not safe in Maharashtra. Out of the stolen things, police could recover only Rs. 45,61,535 which is 31% of total thefts and exhibits. This goes on to prove the incompetency of police. 1. It has become easy for thieves to steal valuables from temples rather than from banks and homes. They always target idols, ornaments and donation boxes in temples.

2. Moreover, media blowing trumpets of secularism, are always making announcements about offerings made by devotees and misleading people; which is also one of the causes of increase in incidents of theft.

3. Police are not paying attention to security of temples. In fact, they advise people to fix CCTV cameras, appoint guards etc. when complaints are lodged with them; still theft rate is growing.   

4. Home Minister R R Patil had warned, instead of providing security to temples, that trustees of temples should take responsibility of security of their temples and they would be held responsible in case of theft; therefore, police neither take steps to provide security to temples nor do they try to find out culprits. Damage caused to temples is more due to ‘governmentalization’ of temples than stealing by robbers !

In Sai Mandir of Shirdi, devotees donated Rs. 4.37 crores during Guru-Purnima festival. On the day of Ashadhi Ekadashi, offerings made at the feet of Sri Vitthal at Pandharpur were worth Rs.38,43,663. The rulers have an eye even on these donations; therefore, the amount looted by the rulers by taking over the management of temples is very high compared to the amount looted by robbers, informed a devout Hindu. The temples taken over by the Government are many including Shirdi’s Sai Mandir, Pandharpur’s Sri Vitthal Mandir, Kolhapur’s Sri Mahalakshmi Mandir, Tuljapur’s Sri Bhavani Mandir and Sri Siddhivinayak Mandir of Mumbai.
