Jodhpur (Rajasthan) : H. H. Asaram Bapu, arrested on allegation of sexually assaulting a minor girl, will continue to remain in judicial custody as the Rajasthan high court on Wednesday decided to hear his bail plea Oct 1, police said.
H. H. Asaram Bapu, 72, filed a bail application before the Jodhpur bench of the high court on September 13.
The bail application first came up for hearing on Monday and since the arguments remained inconclusive, the high court put off the proceedings on Wednesday.
Senior counsel Ram Jethmalani appeared for H. H. Asaram Bapu in the court on Wednesday.
“We presented our argument opposing the bail today,” Anand Purohit, prosecution counsel, told IANS.
“The defence lawyers sought time for replying, for which Justice Nirmaljit Kaur has slated the next hearing for Oct 1,” he added.
H. H. Asaram Bapu is lodged in the Jodhpur Central Jail since September 2.
H. H. Asaram Bapu was presented before court of the district and sessions judge (Jodhpur rural) Sep 16. The court extended his judicial custody till September 30.
A 16-year-old girl on August 20 lodged a police complaint, accusing H. H. Asaram Bapu of sexually assaulting her at his ashram near Jodhpur.
H. H. Asaram Bapu was arrested from his ashram in Indore in Madhya Pradesh and brought to Jodhpur on September 1.

Zee News reported that ‘Rajasthan police have accessed a video clip from the caretaker of H.H. Asaram Bapuji, Shiva’s mobile featuring the controversial godman with a girl.’ (Ref : Zee News)
Police, however, denied reports that it is in possession of any CD or video clippings given by H.H. Asaram Bapuji’s aide Shiva. “We have not received any such CD or video clipping so far showing bapu or any of his activity. We have obtained some evidences out of interrogation of Shiva and are in the process of its verification,” DCP Ajay Pal Lamba said. (Source : DNA)

Special interview by H. H. Asaram Bapu’s ‘sevekari (attendant)’ on P-7 news channel !
Mumbai : ‘H. H. Asaram Bapu never meets any woman in privacy. The incident as told by the girl (reg. Sexual exploitation) has never taken place. Police beat me, threatened me and warned me that I would have to tell whatever was asked by police. I do not have any kind of CD related to H. H. Asaram Bapu. The above information was given by Shiva, H. H. Asaram Bapu’s ‘sevekari’. A special interview of Shiva was shown on P-7 Hindi news channel. In this interview, he has refuted all charges levelled by Jodhpur police and claimed that no such incident had taken place. This interview has been taken in presence of police.
‘Sevekari’ Shri. Shiva said,
1. I am in H. H. Bapuji’s service for the past 8 years. I am entrusted with only ‘prasad (holy sacrament) seva’. I am not in any way connected with this matter. I reply to those people who contact me.
2. That girl has said that ‘Shiva sent me to H. H. Asaram Bapu and don’t go out anywhere.’ Whatever the girl has said is wrong. That day, I had left at 6.45 p.m. and boarded 8.00 o’clock train (or is it bus?). I have even tickets of that journey and presented them in the Court.
3. Police brought plain papers to me and asked me to sign on those papers.
4. After the incident, the girl was on the farm house whole night. If any wrong thing had happened with her, she would have cried and gone to her parents; but none of these things happened. In fact, later, the girl played with that farm-house owner’s children.
When the Government pleader, Anand Purohit was asked about the same by P-7 channel, he said that Shiva was telling lies and every criminal the same thing. When Purohit was made to listen to what Shiva had said, he said that he would not comment as it was a matter of investigations and Shiva was presently in police custody. Thus Purohit tried to wriggle out of the situation.

Jodhpur court rejects H.H. Asaram Bapuji’s bail plea

JODHPUR: The Jodhpur (rural) district and sessions judge rejected the bail plea filed by H.H. Asaram Bapu on Wednesday. Bapuji is currently in judicial custody for allegedly assaulting a minor girl sexually.
The court had earlier sent Him to judicial custody till September 15.
Earlier in the day, the prosecution opposed the bail plea saying investigations in the case will be affected if bail is granted.
The prosecution told the court that H.H. Asaram Bapu, during the investigation, had allegedly tried to influence police and, in view of the fact, he may further try to influence the investigation if the bail application is considered.
Additional advocate general Anand Purohit said two persons named in the FIR – Shilpi (warden of the hostel at Chhindwara Gurukul) and Sharad (caretaker in the gurukul) – were on the run and their interrogation was necessary to complete the investigation.
He also justified registration of the FIR in Delhi instead of Jodhpur, where the crime happened, saying the girl initially did not tell her parents about what had happened with her and when her parents came to know about the incident, they moved to Delhi to confront H.H. Asaram Bapu.
When H.H. Asaram Bapu refused to meet them, father of the girl lodged case in local police station in Delhi.
After the arguments, the court reserved its judgement. Decision of the court is expected to be announced later in the day.
The victim studied at H.H. Asaram Bapuji’s ashram at Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh where it is alleged that the girls’ hostel warden and an attendant scared her that she was being possessed by an evil spirit and asked her parents to take her to Bapuji for treatment.

H.H. Asaram Bapu’s bail plea deferred till 11 am tomorrow

The Jodhpur court hearing the case over H.H. Asaram Bapu’s bail plea in the sexual harassment case has adjourned its proceeding and deferred the hearing till 11 am tomorrow. Bapu had asked for bail citing poor health. Among the reasons the prosecution will seek rejection of H.H. Asaram Bapu’s bail plea are that he could go underground and that Asaram, along with his large number of followers, could influence the family of the minor.

Jodhpur: The police clashed with supporters of religious preacher H.H. Asaram Bapu at the prison in Jodhpur where he was taken today after a local court assigned him to judicial custody so that he can be interrogated about his alleged sexual assault on a school girl earlier this month.
The police used batons to break up a crowd of about 200 protesters.
He has told the police that instead, he met the girl and her family as part of the massive crowd that gathered on August 15 for his ‘satsang’ or religious discourse.

In spite of having a rape charge in Uttar Pradesh against Rahul Gandhi neither a case is filed nor is he arrested But Hindu saints are immeditedly arrested and are imprisoned for 14 days for inquiry.
No case is filed against Robert Vadra despite of the having a charge of corruption. Contrarily action is taken against IPS officer who does the investigation of the said charge But Media is numb about this. (Media hardly speaks anything about this.)
O Hindus ! Let us remember, no political party stands firmly behind any saint.
Gandhi Family in spite of being charged under 2G spam, Bofors etc., neither case is filed against them nor they get arrested.

The case against Asaram Bapu, arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at his ashram, is “very strong” and the investigation is moving in the right direction, Jodhpur Police on Monday said.
H.H. Asaram Bapu had cleared a potency test conducted on him at the SN Medical college. He was also taken to his Manai Ashram, about 30 kms from Jodhpur, where the girl was allegedly sexually assaulted.
Police had conducted a physical verification and tried to create the scene of crime.

Jodhpur (Rajasthan) : Asaram Bapu, accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at his ashram, was today questioned by Jodhpur police for about four hours after being flown from Indore where he was arrested after midnight.
Asaram Bapu, 72, was later produced before district and sessions judge (rural) Manoj K Vyas who remanded him to one-day police custody. Asaram Bapu will be taken to his Manai ashram, 30km from Jodhpur, where the police will try to recreate the scene to verify the charge against him, Jodhpur Police commissioner Biju George Joseph told reporters here.

Rail-roko at Ulhasnagar station
- According to our reporter Rajendra Aklekar, supporters of Asaram are protesting in Mumbai by stopping the railways. They are staging a rail-roko at Ulhasnagar station.
- Asaram Bapu’s flight has landed in Jodhpur. Police sources also said that they will be taking him to an undisclosed location for questioning.

Representatives of the media gathered outside the Ashram of H.H. Asaram Bapu constantly enquired with His devotees the whereabouts of H.H. Asaram Bapu. Enraged by such repeated queries, devotees of Asaram Bapu beat up representative and the cameraman of Hindi TV news channel IBN 7 and damaged their camera. In this melee, women devotees participated in a large number. In this connection, the Police have apprehended 6 devotees. Some journalists faced the wrath of devotees also on 30th August at Bhopal.

Sexual assault case: Police arrest Asaram Bapu

Bhopal: After days of evading the police and refusing to join investigation in the alleged sexual assault case of a minor girl, the 72-year-old self-styled Godman Asaram was finally arrested on Saturday midnight by Jodhpur Police officials from his ashram in Indore. The police will question Asaram on Sunday morning after 11 days of hide and seek.
“As of now he is fit for investigation and travel. If he claims that he is innocent, the investigating officer will take a decision on further action and whether to arrest him or not,” said Jodhpur police DCP Ajay Pal Lamba.

Surat (Gujarat) : One girl has accused H. H. Asaram Bapu, the Chief of ‘Yoga Vedanta Samiti’, of molestation. Capitalising on the so-called accusations, media has started defaming H. H. Bapuji. On 28th August, Saints and pro-Hindu organisations united at Surat to oppose such conspiracy. A warning was given that such mud-slinging on Hindu saints would not be tolerated in future. H. H. Bapuji was present to bless the Hindu unification on the occasion of this program. H. H. Bapuji said, “Nobody can arrest me now or even in future !” His statement helped to increase faith amongst his devotees. Many Saints- Mahants were on the stage.
