A devout Hindu prevents denigration of Deities by a Christian

Udupi (Karnataka) : A program called ‘Prajavani’ was organized on the grounds of a school for propagation of a daily periodical in Kannada language. In this program, one Mr. Richard Luis was denigrating Hindu Deities and was stopped by a devout Hindu named Mr. Somshekhar who attended the program. (Congratulations to Mr. Somshekhar who stopped denigration of Hindu Deities! Denigration of Hindu Deities will stop if such devout Hindus are found at other places also ! – Editor SP) 

In this program, Mr. Luis was making mockery of Lord Ganesha and Draupadi. Mr. Somshekhar was in the audience watching the program. He got up and opposed the denigration. His voice could not, however, be heard by anyone; therefore, he went up to the stage and opposed Mr. Luis. He told Luis, “If you want to make mockery of anyone, do it of Jesus and Mary; but not of our Deities. Even earlier, you have held such programs; even on TV channel and ridiculed our Deities on the TV. We are not able to do anything at that time. Now, we have got an opportunity to take you to task. Stop all this and go away.”

Richard Luis said, “I am not doing such program for the first time; even earlier, I have presented these programs. I have done such programs even for RSS. I go to RSS office too.” He took few names of RSS workers. He said further, “I respect Hindu Dharma. I am only doing a show and do not possess much knowledge about Dharma. If I have hurt you, please pardon me.” Mr. Somshekhar said, “Don’t ask for pardon; just go away from here.” In the meantime, the police reached there. They took Mr. Somshekhar to the police station. (The behavior of police shows as if they have been given unwritten orders that if something happens between Hindus and followers of other religions, Hindus should be first taken into custody. Why should Hindus pay taxes and provide for such police force ? – Editor SP) Nearly 60 Hindus attending this program asked for an explanation from the police. They told the police that Somshekhar had done the right thing and he should be released and sent back to attend the program. The program would start only after his return. (Congratulations to devout Hindus from Udupi who strongly supported Mr. Somshekhar ! – Editor SP) The police released Mr. Somshekhar considering the opposition from Hindus. Hindus brought him back to the program as a dignitary after which the program was re-started. Richard Luis was, however, not allowed to carry on with the program. He only remained at the venue and after the program was over, he was taken to Mangaluru under police protection. (As if Hindus are aggressive and violent like followers of other religions ! – Editor SP)

After the incident, Mr. Somshekhar while talking to Mr. Ratish, a representative of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ said, “I have now realized how Dharma protects us when we try to protect Dharma !”
