Ruins of temple found under the debris of a Durgah sent to Historical Research Committee

Pune: Ruins of temple unearthed at the base of ‘Chhota Shaikh Sallah Dargah’ situated on the banks of Mutha River in Shaniwar Peth, Pune have been sent to Indian Historical Research Committee. The 11 items of ruins of ‘Punyeshwar’ temple built in 11th century were found in the debris. The parts were loaded on a truck on behalf of Pune Municipality and sent to Indian Historical Research Institute for the purpose of carrying out study.
