HJS to hold 5 Hindu Unity Meets in Mumbai on Gurupournima

Mumbai: Guru-Pournima will be celebrated for the first time on behalf of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) at 119 places all over the country. The day of ‘Guru-Pournima’ is an important day in Hindu culture and the day to offer gratitude to one’s Guru.

Arjuna with the blessings of Sree Krushna, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with the blessings of Saint Tukaram and Samartha Ramdas Swami re-established and built righteous kingdom. This shows the significance of the tradition of Guru-Disciple (Guru-Shishya Paramparaa); but the Government adopted ‘Macaulay’s English education system discarding this tradition.

It has, however, become necessary today to once again nurture ‘Guru-Disciple’ tradition and HJS has organized ‘Hindu unity gatherings’ at 5 places in Mumbai and surrounding areas. In this gathering, a film will be shown on ‘Dharmacharan’ with demonstrations, a short-play enlightening on attacks on Hindu Dharma will be staged, there will be demonstrations on self-defence training and guidance by dignitaries on ‘Nation and Dharma’. The above information was given by Mr. Shivaji Vatkar, the district-coordinator of HJS for Mumbai, Thane and Raigad and Mrs. Varsha Thakar on behalf of HJS in a press conference held at Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh.
