Mumbai: A VCD has been prepared by those, who have fake concern to save environment, on the Ganesha idols not immersed properly and the idols are in a distorted state. The suburban Ganesh festival committee and Hindu Janajagrtui Samiti (HJS) have demanded that such perverted things should be banned and stringent action should be taken against such environmentalists. ‘Eco out’ a voluntary organization has prepared a VCD on immersion of Ganesha idols and shown how the idols are lying in broken state contending that the method of immersion is wrong. The said VCD was shown on 15th July 2010 at Yashawantrao Chavan Pratishthan Hall in a meeting held by Maharashtra Pollution Control Board and Environment Department. MR. Vinod Ghosalkar, a Shiv Sena MLA and President of suburban Mumbai Ganesha Committee had raised objection in the matter.

Advocate Naresh Dahibavkar, the President of public Ganesha festival coordination committee, Mumbai had earlier asked that on immersion of idols in artificial water tanks, what the Government proposed to do with the pollution caused due to chemical colours and trash. He said that he was going to ask for an explanation from Mumbai Municipal Corporation regarding the breakage of idols. A denigrating picture of Sree Ganesha made from green leaves was displayed on the stage in the background during the meeting. (This is a sign of lack of ‘Dharmashikshan’ among Hindus ! – Editor SP)
