Bengaluru : Management College run by ‘Malleshwaram Ladies Association’ was the venue of ‘Kanya Shaurya Abhiyan’ organized by Ranaragini Division of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS). Principal Ushadevi of the college, Kum. Bhavya Gowda of Ranaragini Division, Shri. Mohan Gowda of HJS and Kum. Rasika Doddanwar, self-defence trainer participated in the program attended by 90 girl- students.

Kum. Bhavya Gowda explained the need for self-defence. She said, “Now in a city like Bengaluru, women are not safe either at night or even during day. It is therefore, necessary to get trained in self-defence. We also need to increase our physical, mental and spiritual strength to fight against injustice. Young generation should take part in ‘Kanya Shaurya Abhiyan’ and unite for protection of nation.”

Shri. Mohan Gowda said, “Nowadays, our mental strength is so down that we are scared of even cockroaches, rats and lizards. We need to develop ‘Kshatra-vrutti’ by undertaking spiritual practice and with faith in God and like Swami Vivekananda, join activities related to protection of nation, gaining strength by spiritual practice.”

Principal Ushadevi requested to organize such programs on Saturdays and she thanked the guests, presenting bouquet to them. Self-defence demonstrations were presented in the end. Two students spontaneously took part in the demonstrations.
