Municipality chairperson apologizes to HJS for hurting Hindus sentiments

Nashik:Lord Ganesh-devotees are furious with the anti-religion activities of Kopargaon Municipality. The municipality threw in garbage, offerings made to Lord Ganesh during the Ganesh festival. Shri. Ashok Sarangadhar and Shri. Dattatrey Bendre of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti met with Shri. Rajabhau Zaware the chairperson of Kopargaon Muncipality for this incident. Shri. Zaware apologize for this incident and agreed that such kind of incident will not happen in future.

The festival is celebrated with so much of devotion. After Ganesh festival, the municipality collected all the offerings made to Lord Ganesh in a trolley used for collecting garbage and dumped it in the garbage bins. The offerings contained red cloth, durva, garlands, photographs, coconuts etc. Pigs now frequent the dumping ground. Some of the garbage was also used as fertilizer by a local school. Lord Ganesh-devotees are hurt due to such attitude of the municipality.
